Getronics and ON Technology Form Strategic Partnership
for Enterprise Infrastructure Management

Leading global provider of IT solutions and services chooses ON Technology products to reduce IT costs, accelerate Windows 2000/XP roll-outs, and implement robust remote desktop & server management

Waltham, MA (September 16, 2002)- - ON Technology (Nasdaq:ONTC), a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure management solutions, today announced a strategic partnership with Getronics (Euronext Amsterdam:GTN). Under the agreement, Getronics, one of the world's leading providers of solutions and services to professional users of Information and Communication Technology, will now market, resell, and support ON Technology's complete product line to its worldwide customer base. In addition, Getronics, with over 28,000 employees in over 30 countries, will employ ON Technology's products in its own worldwide Enterprise Service Centres. The new relationship has already yielded a major sale by Getronics to a large European end-user.

ON Command CCM, ON Technology's flagship product, will be used by Getronics enterprise customers to speed-up Windows 2000 and Windows XP roll-outs, deploy mission-critical applications, and implement disaster recovery and security management, while lowering ongoing IT costs.

Getronics chose ON Technology after an in-depth evaluation of competitive solutions for software management and deployment. ON Command CCM® was selected based on its technological leadership and comprehensive enterprise capabilities.

Unlike conventional management solutions, ON Command CCM is the only enterprise-class system that offers full lifecycle management, including unattended operating system installations and one-click disaster recovery. ON Command CCM also allows distributed enterprises to easily manage all of their users from a single centralized console, including both LAN-connected users as well as remote and mobile users.

"We are constantly looking for ways to deliver more and better service against an competitive and attractive price to our enterprise clients. ON Technology has shown their capabilities in terms of delivering and supporting best-in-class technology that allow us to deliver the services our clients ask for," said Harry Bijsterbosch, Global Director NetWorkPlace, Getronics. "Based on balanced scorecard principles the solutions from ON Technology simply showed to be the best. ON's open and scalable platform delivers important strategic and tactical benefits to our enterprise clients as well as to ourselves."

"We're pleased to have been selected by Getronics to enhance their competitive advantage and world-class service capabilities," said Robert L. Doretti, Chairman, President and CEO of ON Technology. "As enterprise IT environments become even more distributed and complex, IT organizations will increasingly turn to service providers and systems integrators like Getronics for outsourced services that increase the reliability and availability of their IT infrastructure while reducing costs. This represents a major market opportunity for ON Technology."
