ON Technology Promotes Harald Faulhaber
to Vice President, European Operations

Seasoned Executive to Drive Continued European Business Expansion

Waltham, MA (September 20, 2001) – ON Technology Corporation (Nasdaq:ONTC), a leading provider of remote software and content management solutions, announced today that Harald E Faulhaber, 42, has been promoted to Vice President, European Operations, effective immediately. According to the announcement by ON Technology Chairman, President and CEO Robert L Doretti, the promotion recognizes Faulhaber’s contribution to the Company’s successful Central European expansion and market share gains. Faulhaber brings over fourteen years of hands-on management experience in software sales, service and support. Reporting to Doretti, Faulhaber will be now be responsible for the entire European sales, customer support, professional services and field marketing functions.

In Faulhaber’s previous position he tripled revenue and increased the installed base of customers by a like amount. In addition, his group closed sales with major European accounts such as Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Pfizer, Munich Reinsurance, Agip, and Siemens Business Services.

“We are pleased to announce Harald’s promotion,” said Doretti. “Harald has been instrumental in ON’s market expansion in Southern and Central Europe over the last four years, and therefore the logical choice for this position. We will now look to him to accelerate the growth of ON Technology throughout all of Europe.”

Faulhaber commented, “In my new position as Vice President of European Operations, my group will continue to develop new customers by creating brand awareness for our products in the European market.”

He added, “I’m confident that we can achieve comparable results in market share gains throughout Europe like those we have had in Southern and Central Europe.”

Prior to joining ON Technology in 1997, Faulhaber held key sales management positions at Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX) and Applix Inc. (Nasdaq:APLX).

Faulhaber is a graduate of the University of Osnabrück with a degree in Mathematics and Physics. He lives in the Munich area with his wife and two children.

The Company also announced that Laurent Raynaud, its Vice President of Western European Field Operations, left the Company to pursue other opportunities.
