Lightbridge Selects ON Technology
for Remote Software Delivery for Mission-Critical
Call Centers & Mobile Workers
Telecommunications service provider
leverages ON Command CCM for accelerated deployment
of business & productivity apps, operating systems
Waltham,
MA, October 10, 2000 – ON Technology
(NASDAQ: ONTC), a leading provider of remote software
delivery solutions, today announced that Lightbridge,
Inc. (NASDAQ: LTBG) has selected ON Command CCM™
to manage mission-critical software for all of its call
centers. Lightbridge, a leading enabler of customer
relationship management solutions for communications
service providers, will also use the system to deliver
software to mobile and remote workers such as salespeople
and telecommuters, and other departments including engineering,
consulting services, marketing and finance. ON Command
CCM has been judged by industry analysts, reviewers,
enterprise IT managers and service providers as the
best unattended solution for remotely delivering business-critical
operating systems and applications across the extended
enterprise.
"As a software and services
company in a rapidly-growing market, we're constantly
looking for ways to leverage the latest information
technology to gain a greater competitive advantage,"
said Paul Beliveau, director, information technologies
for Lightbridge. "ON Command CCM automates our
critical IT processes and is a superb time- and labor-saving
alternative to 'sneakernet', especially for supporting
our remote users. We also looked at traditional low-end
cloning solutions and enterprise frameworks, but chose
ON Command CCM for its reliability, ease-of-implementation,
and full lifecycle solution."
Lightbridge has experienced rapid
growth over the past five years. With revenues growing
at an annual compounded rate of 45%, the company was
looking for a cost-effective and systematic way to manage
the explosive demand for internal IT services. ON Command
CCM allows Lightbridge to automatically build all PCs
for new employees from a central console and continuously
push software updates over the network.
For instance, the company uses
ON Command CCM to deploy in-house call center apps,
shrink-wrapped productivity apps such as Microsoft Office
and Internet Explorer, and security updates such as
new virus signatures.
"Lightbridge is a great example
of a company that's leveraging our best-of-breed technology
to keep their mission-critical operations running 24x7
-- and their end-users happy and productive," said
Phil Neray, ON Technology Vice-President of Marketing.
"We're delighted to help them achieve further success
in their business."
