PowerQuest Names Storage Veteran as CTO, Sr. VP of Storage Products

Former Hewlett Packard, StorageTek officer joins PowerQuest management team

OREM, Utah - Feb. 11, 2002 - PowerQuest® Corporation today named Donald Kleinschnitz, Jr. as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Storage Products. Kleinschnitz brings more than 20 years experience to PowerQuest, where he will expand and implement product vision and strategy directed at growing the company’s presence within the storage management market.

"Don’s experience is a strong addition to PowerQuest’s leadership team," said PowerQuest CEO Paul T. Winn. "His strong technical background and experience with storage technologies make him an ideal candidate to carry our technology vision forward and manage the teams that implement that vision."

Kleinschnitz’s responsibilities include directing product management and development, operations, professional services, and project management.

Most recently, Kleinschnitz has been general manager of Scalable Network Storage and Open View Storage Management at Hewlett Packard. In this position, he was responsible for storage management products and storage area network (SAN) solutions.

Prior to his work at Hewlett Packard, Kleinschnitz spent 24 years at Storage Technology Corporation (StorageTek), where he helped establish and implement product strategies for Open Systems and SAN storage markets. In addition, he was a contributing author to multiple intelligent storage architectures that were the foundation for StorageTek’s and HP’s integrated storage management NT and SAN strategy. He also forged critical strategic storage alliances and directed extensive customer, market and technology research.

Kleinschnitz has a degree in digital engineering technology, earned an MBA from the University of Colorado and is a U.S. Navy veteran.
