Chamber Honors PowerQuest and CEO Eric J. Ruff with Entrepreneur Award
PowerQuest wins Giant Step Award for Entrepreneurial Success
OREM, Utah - February 22, 2000 -
The Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce named PowerQuest® Corp. and CEO Eric J. Ruff winners of the 2000 Giant Step Award for Entrepreneurial Success. The Giant Step Awards pay tribute to small businesses in Salt Lake that demonstrate the entrepreneurial spirit that is at the heart of small business.
"The success we've achieved is due to an incredible team that works together," said Ruff. "This has been an amazing ride, but the best is yet to come! The same entrepreneurial spirit that has led to PowerQuest's success as a small company will help us continue to grow as we further develop our enterprise storage device management solutions."
Ruff and his brother, Dave Ruff, lived on second mortgages and credit cards for two years while they worked on PowerQuest's first software product, PartitionMagic, which they launched in March 1995. Since then, revenues have increased dramatically, causing PowerQuest to be named to most of the industry's Top Tech lists and recognized as Utah's fastest growing company for two consecutive years. PowerQuest will accept the award from Utah Governor Michael O. Leavitt during the Giant Step Awards Banquet, March 23, at Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City.
