Semp Toshiba to License PowerQuest Imaging and System-Recovery Software
Drive Image Special Edition, EasyRestore provide intuitive system recovery for Semp Toshiba PC customers in Brazil
SAO PAULO, Brazil - August 22, 2000 -
PowerQuest, a provider of proven software solutions for storage management, and Semp Toshiba, a leading PC and electronics provider in Brazil, announced today that imaging and system-recovery solutions from PowerQuest are now included on Semp Toshiba PCs. PowerQuest?s Drive Image Special Edition and EasyRestore solutions provide customers purchasing new Semp Toshiba desktop or laptop PCs a way to recover quickly and easily from system crashes.
"By partnering with PowerQuest, we offer our customers an increased level of confidence in their personal computer purchases," said Henrique Costa, engineering manager with Semp Toshiba. "Users will save time and money by performing system recovery operations on their own with no necessary background or training."
EasyRestore allows end users to restore a computer to its original system setup simply by inserting a CD and a boot disk and rebooting the computer. With Drive Image, which resides on the hard drive, users can create an exact copy (or image) of their entire system to restore later, if necessary. Semp Toshiba desktop and laptop PCs now include either EasyRestore or Drive Image Special Edition.
"Whether caused by a virus, a software bug or user error, restoring a crashed computer is a frustrating experience, often requiring a long phone call to a technical support center to complete the task," said Kevin Hansen, senior director of international sales with PowerQuest Corp. "EasyRestore and Drive Image put the power to perform a system recovery into the hands of the end user, reducing frustration and the time necessary to get the computer up and running again."
