PowerQuest's Drive Image Pro selected by Computacenter for Deploying Windows Workstations
Reading, England - Nov. 07, 2000 -
PowerQuest® UK Ltd., a provider of proven solutions for storage management, today announced that Drive Image Pro will be used by Computacenter to provide its customers with a fast, robust and flexible way of configuring their desktop and laptop computers as part of the software build process. This agreement will enable Computacenter to configure its customers’ machines using Drive Image images regardless of whether or not customers have a software license for an imaging product.
Phil Atkinson, Corporate Sales Manager, PowerQuest UK Ltd., said, “I’m delighted that Computacenter has agreed to offer a service to its customers that centres around the use of PowerQuest technology. Computacenter is the first to partner with PowerQuest for this service in the UK.”
This is a two step agreement that allows Computacenter to not only configure its customer’s machines, but to also offer a Drive Image Pro license that will cover each machine throughout its full life-cycle.
John Joslin, Computacenter’s Director of Supply Chain Services, said, “Our agreement with PowerQuest will simplify the licensing process for our customers, our account teams and other areas of the business.”
Computacenter tested three products over a period of many months before selecting PowerQuest. John Joslin explained, “We found that PowerQuest’s Drive Image Pro offered a suite of utilities that fulfilled all of the criteria requested by Computacenter's Configuration group. Drive Image Pro delivers speed and accuracy of image upload and download whilst preserving data and optimizations. The other utilities included with Drive Image Pro give us the ability to manipulate partitions and create application packets. These factors, combined with ease of use and a high level of technical support from PowerQuest, made our decision that much easier.
This announcement coincides with the latest release of PowerQuest’s management, deployment and protection solutions, PartitionMagic 6.0, ServerMagic 4.0 for NetWare, ServerMagic 4.0 for Windows NT, Drive Image Pro 4.0, Drive Image 4.0 and SecondChance 2.07.
