PowerQuest, Sony Computer Peripherals Components Europe Deliver Data Protection Solutions to CD-RW Customers
Agreement Bundles Drive Image, PowerQuest DataKeeper with Sony CD-RW products for data protection, disaster recovery
MUNICH, Germany / WEYBRIDGE, England - Nov. 13, 2000 -
PowerQuest Corporation, a provider of proven solutions for storage management, and the computer peripherals components division of Sony Core Technology & Network Company Europe, announced today an agreement that bundles PowerQuest’s Drive Image and PowerQuest DataKeeper software with Sony’s CD-RW products in Europe. Today’s news extends the current relationship between the companies formed in 1999.
PowerQuest’s Drive Image enables computer users to create an exact image of a hard drive and save it to a removable media, such as a CD-RW drive, for easy, accurate disaster recovery. PowerQuest DataKeeper automatically backs up data with no user intervention. The combination of Drive Image and PowerQuest DataKeeper provide dual layers of protection from data loss and system corruption.
“The inclusion of PowerQuest technology with our CD-RW products gives our customers an added value and shows them a powerful use of Sony CD-RW drives,” said Michelle Hardiman of Sony’s Product Marketing Division. “Sony customers now have an easy way to back up data and create an image of their computer to CD-RW.”
“The relationship with Sony expands the number of customers in Europe who are using PowerQuest products to protect data availability,” said Steve Fairbanks, Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Planning at PowerQuest. “PowerQuest’s proven solutions give Sony CD-RW customers the assurance that their important computer resources are protected.”
