As we continue to update the program, we will deliver enhancements, including new certification exams, a consistent set of exam preparation materials, and common exam registration and administration procedures.
Symantec to Partner with Pearson VUE
The Symantec Certification Program is pleased to announce Pearson VUE as its new, global certification exam-delivery partner. Moving Symantec IT certification exams to Pearson VUE will result in more efficient service for Symantec customers, partners and employees by providing testing on a single platform and streamlining Symantec processes. Additionally, it will make it easier to register for, and deliver exams, through the deployment of advanced registration and delivery technologies, facilitate the rapid localization of exams around the world, improve the security of Symantec exams and offer more advanced testing capabilities in more test centers globally.
Pearson VUE provides a full suite of services from test development to data management and is widely known as a leading provider of global computer-based testing solutions for information technology, academic, government, and professional testing programs. They deliver exams through the world’s most comprehensive and secure network of test centers in more than 175 countries. Pearson VUE is a business of Pearson (NYSE: PSO; LSE: PSON), the international education and information company.
Our current relationship with Prometric will remain through 11:59pm CDT, on June 23, 2013. Candidates may continue to take exams and use Prometric exam vouchers at Prometric Testing Centers worldwide until that date. Effective June 24, 2013, all Symantec Certification exams will be taken exclusively at Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide.

The Certification Team Announces a Second Level of Symantec Certification!
Symantec offers a second level of certification called the
Symantec Certified Professional (SCP), which became available July 2012. The SCP level has several paths to validate your technical competencies based on specific areas of solution expertise with multiple Symantec products.
Note: This SCP program consists of a technical exam created specifically to measure technical understanding of and competency with cloud security solutions and related concepts, including Symantec-specific as well as non-product-specific solutions. Test candidates should have a minimum of 6 months experience with assessing, architecting, or implementing cloud security solutions, and should be familiar with the course content covered in the 3rd day of the Symantec Cloud Security Essentials (SCSE) course. Additionally, candidates should have a strong knowledge of the industry standard white papers and other resources outlined in the SCP Cloud Security 1.0 Exam Study Guide.

New Certificate Designs and Business Card Logos
In January 2013, Symantec Education Services launched newly designed certificates and business card logos. If you already have a Symantec credential, log in to
CertTracker, click on “Request Certificate” and then complete the fields in red to “Select Certificates to Request”. It takes up to 24 hours to receive the new e-Certificate via email.
Legacy & New Exams
Many of the Symantec certification exams will be replaced by a newer product version of the exam as technology and trends continue to evolve. Legacy exams will still be available on Prometric’s website, as Symantec recognizes that legacy product versions will continue to hold their value in the marketplace as long as there is demand from the industry. Certification Exams for more information. Additionally study of the course content, exam objectives, sample questions, product documentation, and on-the-job experience, are also recommended. Be cautioned that attendance in a training course does not guarantee passage of a certification exam.
