General Information
  • The education center will be open at 8:00 am daily with classes starting at 9 am. Class will end at approximately 5:00 pm daily
  • Casual attire
  • There is no data port access available
  • Phones are available in the training break room
  • Trains may have different station entrances according to their destination. If you are not familiar with the NYC train system, be sure to take the correct uptown (Bronx bound) or downtown (Brooklyn bound) train
  • Recommended Transportation from Airports to NYC (Manhattan) is by Local Taxi Service. Once in the city you can utilize public transportation such as Train, Taxi, or Bus services.

Public Transportation
Local Taxi Service From Airports to NYC (Manhattan) site
The fare from JFK Airport is a fixed rate of $30 to anywhere in Manhattan, plus tolls and tip.
The trip from LaGuardia into the city is metered, approximately $20 to $30, plus tolls and tip.
Fares from Newark Airport are metered but do not include toll or tip, cost is approximately $28-$32 to Midtown Manhattan.
By Train
The Symantec training center is easily accessible by subway train.
You can purchase a MetroCard at any subway terminal.
View a MTA NYC Subway System Map Take the 6 train to 51st Street (at Lexington Ave.), and walk two blocks west to Madison Ave., then four blocks downtown to 47th Street.
By Train (Alternate)
Take the 4, 5, or 6 train to Grand Central Station (42nd Street at Lexington Ave.).
Walk two blocks west to Madison and four blocks uptown to 46th Street.
There is also a Grand Central passageway entrance on the corner of 47th and Madison, in case of inclement weather.
Taxi Cabs
Most hotels have taxi stands, as do Grand Central Terminal and Pennsylvania Station.
Rates for taxis are approximately:
$2.00 basic fee
$.30 for each 1/4 mile
$.30 for each 30 seconds stopped in traffic
$.50 additional night charge
Tip between 15-20 percent
By Bus
Buses are typically slow, but there is a bus route (M1) along Madison Avenue.
Buses require exact change (no bills) or a MetroCard.
Parking
There is no Symantec parking area in Manhattan, and street parking is scarce. If you choose to drive, please read any parking restriction signs before you park.
