Symantec To Discuss The Importance of A Proactive Approach To Building A Secure Enterprise

SYDNEY - 14 June, 2004 -- Symantec, the global leader in information security, today announced that John Donovan, Managing Director of Symantec Australia and New Zealand, will speak at the Cybercrime and Fraud Risk Management Forum in Sydney on the need for taking a proactive approach to building a secure enterprise infrastructure. Donovan’s presentation is scheduled for Friday, 18 June 2004 at 11am at Four Points by Sheraton Darling Harbour.

Donovan will discuss the business risks associated with today’s Internet threats, the evolution of such threats and an analysis of reactive versus proactive security measures. He will address how a complete proactive infrastructure can cost less, lead to better productivity and provide management safeguards.

Donovan will also participate in an executive panel at 2.30pm on developing strategies and integrating risk functions to combat cybercrime and protect consumers.

The Cybercrime and Fraud Risk Management Forum is organised by the Australian Bankers Association. The Forum will provide banks, credit unions, building societies and insurance companies with the opportunity to examine the latest techniques and strategies to combat cybercrime and fraud in Australia.
