Symantec Appoints Steve Cullen to Lead Security Products and Solutions Group

Gail Hamilton to Lead Global Services and Support Organisation

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- 23 January, 2004 -- Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced the appointment of Steve Cullen as senior vice president, Security Products and Solutions. Previously, Cullen had been senior vice president of Symantec's Enterprise Solutions Group.

In his new role, Cullen will lead the security product development activities for Symantec. He is responsible for worldwide security solution strategies and developing the core security businesses around client and host security, gateway security and the company's security management solutions.

Gail Hamilton will lead the newly formed services and support organisation, which encompasses early warning, managed security services, consulting, education, response, customer service, and technical support. Her title will be executive vice president and general manager, Global Services and Support.
