Symantec Wins Six NZ PC World Readers’ Choice Awards

AUCKLAND -- 11 May, 2005 -- When it comes to security, the name New Zealanders trust is Symantec. In the 2005 New Zealand PC World Readers’ Choice Awards Symantec software came top in six categories.

Symantec won the following six awards:

• Best antispam software – Symantec Norton AntiSpam
• Best utility software – Symantec Norton SystemWorks
• Best fax software – Symantec WinFax Pro
• Best security suite – Symantec Norton Internet Security
• Best antivirus software – Symantec Norton AntiVirus
• Best remote access software – Symantec pcAnywhere

In particular, Symantec’s Norton Internet Security and Norton AntiVirus were clear favourites. Symantec Norton AntiVirus received 53.1 percent of the votes for best antivirus software, while 36.7 of voters rated Symantec Norton Internet as the best security suite.

NZ PC World subscribers voted online for their favourite software, hardware and services for the annual awards during the month of February. The full results are published in the April edition.
