Symantec launches Canadian Scratch & Win Promotion

TORONTO -- June 18, 1998 -- Symantec Corporation of Toronto will launch a "Scratch and Win" sales promotion contest into the Canadian retail market.

"Beginning June 21, 1998, Symantec customers will receive a "Scratch and Win Sweepstakes" game card at the cash register when purchasing specific titles," says Symantec Corporation’s Canadian marketing manager Steve Chapman. "If a customer reveals three matching squares, they have a winning game card to claim via mail-in redemption. The prizes include Symantec T-shirts, pens, hats, clocks, watches and cash."

From June 21 to October 31/98, eligible software titles include Norton AntiVirus 4.0, Norton AntiVirus Deluxe, Norton Uninstall Deluxe and Norton CrashGuard Deluxe.

From November 1, 1998 to January 30, 1999, qualified products include WinFax Pro, ACT! 4.0, pcANYWHERE, Norton Utilities 3.0 and Norton Mobile Essentials.

"We will be supporting our English and French-language promotion through point-of-purchase material in major retail stores across Canada," adds Chapman.

Symantec brand products are available at Future Shop, London Drugs, Business Depot, Staples, Bureau En Gros, Adventure and Computer City, as well as other retail outlets.
