Symantec Launches Canadian Norton Product "Point of Sale" Promotion

TORONTO - October 15, 1998 - Symantec Corporation of Toronto will launch a Norton software product "Point of Sale" contest into the Canadian retail market.

"Beginning November 1, 1998 and running until January 1, 1999, Symantec customers who purchase a copy of Norton SystemWorks, Norton AntiVirus, Norton Utilities or Norton Crashguard have a chance to win over $50,000. worth of prizes," says Symantec Corporation’s Canadian general manager Chris Monnette.

To enter, customers complete and send the mail-in rebate form attached to the box. The grand prize is a trip for two to Hawaii. 1700 other prizes include Sony camcorders, digital cameras, Symantec watches, hats and T-shirts.

"We will be supporting our English and French-language promotion through point-of-purchase material in major retail stores across Canada," adds Monnette.

Symantec sofrware brand products are available at Future Shop, London Drugs, Business Depot, Staples, Bureau En Gros, Adventure and Computer City, as well as at other retail outlets
