VANCOUVER - March 4, 1999 -- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC) has named Jim Galpin channel sales manager for Canada.

Based in Vancouver, B.C., Galpin joined the company as a senior regional sales representative in 1997 and was most recently the senior national account manager in Canada. Before Symantec, Galpin was in the computer sales business with his own company after spending 10 years with Xerox Corporation.
