Symantec Announces Exclusive Deal with Staples-Business Depot Tech Centres

Norton software adds value to customer service by offering comprehensive troubleshooting and repair services

Toronto, ON. June 7, 1999 - Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC), the world leader in utility software for business and personal computing, today announced an exclusive deal with the Tech Centres of The Business DEPOT™. The Business DEPOT locations nation-wide will now use Norton SystemWorks™ exclusively in their Tech Centres, offering customers comprehensive troubleshooting and repair services for their computing needs.

The Business DEPOT has 120 Tech Centres across Canada. The Tech Centres offer upgrade services to customers as well as PC software diagnostics. Each technician will use the Norton SystemWorks package, and its Norton AntiVirus™ program to scan a customer's PC system before and after servicing to ensure the machine is free from viruses.
