Symantec Launches Online Software Stores Catering to Portuguese and Spanish-Speaking Customers

Cupertino, CA - Aug. 22, 2000 - - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced two new online software stores designed for Spanish and Portuguese-speaking customers. Customers can download Symantec's full-range of consumer products at ShopSymantec Brasil ( http://br.symantecstore.com) and ShopSymantec América Latina ( http://la.symantecstore.com). The sites use multiple languages and accept multiple currencies making the transactions easier for customers worldwide.

The new Symantec online stores feature the latest product versions and upgrades, round-the-clock online support and a 60-day, money-back guarantee on all products. The stores also have areas that are dedicated to specific customers such as the small business, power and Macintosh users. The site is designed so that it is easy for customers to navigate and find the information they need to make optimal software decisions.
