Symantec Protects telus.net Small Business Customers

Norton Internet Security to be Included in Retail Software Kit Designed to Meet the Internet Needs of Small Businesses

TORONTO, Ont. - October 16, 2000 - Symantec Corp., a world leader in Internet security technology, has collaborated with telus.net, the largest Internet service provider in Western Canada, to offer a retail software kit designed to meet the Internet needs of small businesses. A 90-day Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) version of Symantec's Norton Internet Security, the first product to offer a comprehensive and fully integrated Internet Security and Online Privacy solution for PC users, will be included in the kit and is available to customers now until April 2001.

Customers of telus.net have the option of purchasing the retail kit when they subscribe for their Internet service. Those who purchase the kit for $49.95 Cdn will receive a $50 rebate from TELUS that can be applied to their telus.net service, as well as a software package valued at $250 that includes Norton Internet Security and a variety of other leading-edge software applications.
