Symantec Focuses on Security Needs of Small/Medium Businesses and Remote Offices

Offers Free Security Webcast, "Everything You Need to Know about Security Appliances"

CUPERTINO, Calif. - Mar. 19, 2001 - Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC) today announced its latest Webcast, "Everything You Need to Know About Security Appliances", to help small and medium businesses and remote users understand their unique Internet security risks and solutions options. Security appliances integrate hardware and software packages to create an easy to use enterprise-class security solution. This is the latest in a series of free Webcast seminars for professionals interested in learning about the latest technology and market trends on implementing IT security for their e-business needs. In this Webcast, attendees will learn how appliances can fit their e-business security needs in just 60 minutes from the convenience of their own office. Attendees can register at: http://enterprisesecurity.symantec.com/content/webcastinfo.cfm?PID=1506915.

"Security is an issue for all businesses, large or small. Small to medium businesses and remote users don't have the same access to security expertise as larger businesses, but they still need enterprise-class protection in an easy-to-use solution," said Barry Cioe, product director at Symantec. "This Webcast will discuss how security appliances can adequately and economically fit the expansion of their e-business needs."

The Symantec Security Appliances Webcast is scheduled for March 22 at 2:00 p.m. EST.

Attendees will be briefed on:

  • How security appliances can protect your business
  • Availability of security appliances
  • Key factors for choosing security appliances for security needs of small to medium businesses
  • Set-up for securing the corporate network to remote locations, telecommuters, partners and customers

The monthly Webcast seminar series, "Everything You Need to Know About E-Security," will provide attendees information on how to safely extend business practices onto the Internet and establish a competitive advantage in the market, as well as insight into the latest security trends. Upcoming topics include intrusion detection and vulnerability assessment, gateway anti-virus and managed security services.
