Symantec CTO Will Discuss the Need for Comprehensive Security Management

TORONTO, ON. - November 11, 2002 - Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC), the world leader in Internet security, today announced that it will host a Webcast offering an overview of the Symantec Security Management System, a comprehensive set of management applications that improves security efficiency by delivering proactive control of the security infrastructure. The Webcast, titled "Introduction to Symantec Security Management System" will be held on Thursday, November 14 at 8:00 a.m. PT and again at 1:00 p.m. PT. Attendees can register at http://enterprisesecurity.symantec.com/content/webcastinfo.cfm?WebcastID=36.

Rob Clyde, vice president and chief technology officer at Symantec, will lead the Webcast. "Managing a complex security infrastructure and the overwhelming volume of events created by the deployment of disparate security products are the primary challenges our customers are facing today," said Clyde. Clyde is a pioneer in the development of security products, leading development for intrusion detection and policy compliance products.
