Symantec Offers Webcast on Increasing Risk of Spyware and Bots

Toronto, ON - March 15, 2005 - Symantec Corp. John Harrison, group product manager at Symantec, will discuss how spyware and bots are fast becoming one of the greatest security concerns for enterprises, and describe steps to proactively protect against these new risks. Spyware gathers sensitive information and provides the data to an external party, often for monetary gain. Bots are programs that are covertly installed on a targeted system, allowing an unauthorized user to remotely control the computer for various purposes. Both spyware and bots compromise the security of an enterprise's network.
