Symantec Offers Webcast on Findings of Latest Internet Security Threat Report

Toronto, ON - March 21, 2005 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced it will host a webcast discussing the findings of its seventh bi-annual Internet Security Threat Report. The webcast will be held on Wed., March 23, 2005 at 9 a.m. PST. The webcast and report are invaluable for security IT management who are responsible for strategic security decisions, policy setting, and learning about how security issues affect business. The Internet Security Threat Report is one of the most comprehensive sources of Internet threat data in the world. It provides analysis of data collected from more than 20,000 security devices deployed in more than 180 countries. The most recent Report covers the six-month period from July 1, 2004 to Dec. 31, 2004 and includes analysis of network-based attacks, a review of known vulnerabilities, highlights of malicious code, and forward-looking analysis in Future Watch.

Dean Turner, executive editor of the Internet Security Threat Report, will lead the webcast. The webcast will enable attendees to gain a deeper understanding of the state of overall Internet threats, what these threats mean to their organizations, and what organizations might expect to see in the future.
