Symantec and VERITAS to Webcast Special Meetings of Stockholders

Toronto, ON - June 20, 2005 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) and VERITAS Software (Nasdaq: VRTS) will each webcast a special meeting of stockholders on Friday, June 24, 2005, at 8 am PDT at which stockholders of record will vote on the proposed merger between the two companies.

Interested parties can register for the Symantec webcast at http://www.symantec.com/invest and the VERITAS webcast at http://www.veritas.com/investors/InvestorsHome.jhtml. To listen to the webcast, please go to the Web site at least 15 minutes early to register, download, and install any necessary audio software. A replay and the script of officer remarks will be available on respective investor relations home pages shortly after the meetings are completed.
