Symantec offers customers HK$100 discount on Palm Pilot in special security promotion
Hong Kong -- March 8, 2000 - In a special promotion open to all Hong Kong residents, Symantec is offering customers who purchase English or Chinese versions of Norton Internet Security 2001 or Norton SystemWorks 2001, HK$100 discount on Palm IIIxe from today until March 23.
The promotion from Symantec, the worldwide leader in Internet security, forms part of the company's campaign to proactively support legal software use in Hong Kong. From today customers buying either one of the software packages will receive a discount coupon and a Symantec sticker that is glued on the box. Upon presentation of both the coupon and sticker they will enjoy a HK$100 price reduction on the latest version of Palm IIIxe.
"On April 2001, the Intellectual Property (Miscellaneous Amendments) Ordinance 2000 will come into effect rendering all corporate end users personally responsible for the software used within their organisations," said Daniel Cheng, managing director for Symantec in the PRC and Hong Kong. "This special promotion forms part of our commitment to make it easier for computer users to purchase licenced software and to better protect their systems.

To take part in this special promotion, customers must simply purchase Norton Internet Security 2001 or Norton SystemWorks 2001 at the authorised dealer and bring original copies of the HK$100 discount coupon together with the Symantec product sticker to Vertex Technology Co. Ltd before 23rd March 2001. Customers automatically receive a HK$100 price reduction with the purchase of Palm IIIxe.
