Symantec Corporation and Wipro Infotech
to partner in Security Solutions
MUMBAI -- August 16, 2001
Symantec Corporation, world leaders in Internet Security technology,
and Wipro Infotech, India's number one IT services organisation have entered
into a partnership to jointly market the Symantec range of security products
and solutions in India. This would include solutions in anti-virus, vulnerability
assessment, intrusion prevention, Internet content and e-mail filtering.
The partnership with Wipro Infotech will further strengthen Symantec's
strategy to integrate consultation, installation and implementation of
high-end security products and solutions for medium to large companies,
in India.
The partnership establishes Wipro Infotech as the sole distributor for
Symantec's enterprise Internet Security range of solutions and co-distributor
for Symantec's leading Norton Anti-Virus range of products in India. Symantec's
product range will compliment Wipro's existing security offerings by providing
anti-virus software, network and host based intrusion detection software,
security assessment and policy manager software, secure remote access
software to PCs and servers.
Announcing the partnership, Joy Ghosh, Country Manager, Symantec India,
