Symantec launches CarrierScan for ISPs, ASPs in India

Mumbai -- October 30, 2001 -- Symantec Corporation, a world leader in Internet Security Technology has launched Carrier Scan - the bleeding edge Anti Virus solution for ISPs and ASPs in India. Symantec CarrierScan Server is the industry's first carrier-class virus engine that integrates high-performance, scalable anti-virus scanning and repair capabilities into services, such as e-mail, network-based storage, data caching, and other Web-based file transactions, using Symantec's, award-winning anti-virus technology.
Symantec CarrierScan Server provides anti-virus scan and repair capabilities to applications running on an IP network. Applications can simply pass files for scanning to Carrier Scan Server, which in turn scans the files for viruses. CarrierScan employs Symantec's anti-virus technologies to detect malicious viruses, worms, and Trojan horses in all major file types, including mobile code and compressed file formats.
