MUMBAI -- December 24, 1999 -- Symantec Corporation, the world leader in utility software for business and personal computing and Internet security technology, today unveiled an India-specific site on their global website. The India site provides exhaustive information on Symantec's products, strategy and services available to the Indian customers.
The Site also provides vital information on effects of the millennium change, up-to-the-minute information onY2K viruses, and the steps one needs to take to ensure that systems are secure over the period
Free trialware of Symantec products can be downloaded from this site and availed for a month. The web site also contains information on new promotional schemes, product updates, information about local retailers and corporate resellers, access to technical support, plus Symantec's Indian alliances and business partners.
Some of the outstanding sections of the site are 'Online Technical Support', 'Customer Service', 'Shop Symantec' easy access to Symantec AntiVirus Research Centre ('SARC') and Symantec Millennium Action Response Team ('SMART').
The Technical Support access helps users to detect problems online and advises them about remedial measures. The 'Customer Service' section will enable users satisfy their unanswered queries from the award winning customer support team. Since its entry into the Indian market in February 1999, Symantec has been gradually expanding its operations in India. The company recently inaugurated its India office in Mumbai. Over the past ten months, Symantec has introduced its top line products in India and has continuously launched its latest versions simultaneously with international launches.
