What is the Value Program?
Value, part of the Symantec Security License Program, allows customers, resellers, and distributors to purchase Symantec software licenses—simply and easily—with attractive volume incentives.

Features & Benefits
- Includes all Symantec enterprise software products (plus some consumer products), eliminating the need to submit separate POs for traditional Symantec and former AXENT products.
- Is certificate-based, requiring no legal review - for easier acquisition.
- Requires low minimum purchase - one Server license (selected products only) or ten Desktop licenses - so smaller organizations can take advantage of volume discounts.
- Products grouped by “family”, allows customers to combine licenses to meet the minimum purchase requirement or to qualify for a higher price band.
- Offers optional 1st and 2nd year Gold Maintenance and Maintenance renewals - for added flexibility.
Gold Maintenance
One-Year Maintenance
Symantec offers optional one-year Gold Maintenance for an additional fee*, which includes:
- Gold Technical Support - for telephone support during standard business hours, with unlimited incidents, two designated contacts, and ten minute or less targeted hold time, plus 24x7 Web site support
- Upgrade Insurance - to protect customers’ investment. When Symantec releases a full-version upgrade of a purchased product, customers will receive a copy (used to upgrade all licenses) at no additional charge. Upgrade Insurance also provides regular virus definition and content updates to keep protection current.

2nd-Year Extension
Customers may extend their one-year Gold Maintenance to a second year, using 2nd year Extension SKUs.
Renewals
When customers’ maintenance expires, they may purchase a Maintenance renewal in one or two-year increments.
NOTE: Customers must purchase/renew Maintenance within 60 days of the license purchase or expiration date.
How to Order
Entry Requirements
To participate in the Value program, customers have to purchase a minimum of:
- 10 desktop licenses (band level A through G) OR
- 1 server license (selected products only) (band level S through G)
Customers who purchase different products within the same product family can add the licenses together to reach the minimum purchase requirement or to achieve a higher price band.

Value Order Process Flow
- Customer - Submits an order for licenses & media to their reseller.
- Reseller - (1) Places license/media orders to distributor.
- Distributor - (1) Submits PO for licenses to Symantec Order Services Group (OSG). (2) Ships the media from stock or submits a separate PO for media to Symantec OSG.
- Symantec OSG - (1) Validates the PO (2) Enters it into CLASS (3) Sends the Value License certificate in hardcopy or PDF to the address stated on the PO. (4) Invoices the purchasing company
