Symantec Government Relations Director to Speak at Asia E-Government 2004

SINGAPORE -- 17 May, 2004 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced that Adam Rak, Symantec's director of government relations, will speak at the Asia E-Government Conference in Singapore. Speaking on cyber threats, Rak joins a plenary session on 'E-Government - The Way Forward', which includes speeches from the InfoComm Development Authority (IDA) Singapore, Siebel Systems and NSW Department of Commerce. Rak's speech is scheduled for 10am on Monday, 17 May at the Meritus Mandarin, Singapore.

Conference delegates will gain an understanding of the IT security threats facing government organizations. With recent attacks such as Sasser.B, Nimba, Blaster, Welchia and other Internet threats having a crippling effect on businesses and some government organizations, Rak will share practical advice and insights to help government organizations protect themselves from such attacks.

As director of government relations, Rak has global responsibility for managing Symantec's relationships with government officials and overseeing the company's public policy agenda.
