New Country Manager to drive growth strategy and to address unique Internet security needs in the region

SINGAPORE -- October 3, 2001 -- Symantec Corp., a world leader in Internet security, has promoted David Ng to the position of Country Manager for Singapore, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Based in the Singapore office, he will drive Symantec's sales and channel marketing activities to support its growth in the region and continue to lead the Company in the enterprise Internet security space.

David Ng, previously the Regional Corporate Sales Manager, started his career with Symantec in 1998. One of his key accomplishments include He was instrumental in spearheading Symantec's growth in the government sector.
