Telefónica the IT services arm of the Spanish telecommunications company has standardized on Symantec NetBackup 7.1 to provide robust and flexible audit trail capability in a new payment services targeted at financial services institutions. Using NetBackup 7.1 for deduplication, Telefónica has achieved a 12-fold reduction in the company’s disk storage appliance environment, cut the backup time/window by at least 50 percent, and reduced storage administration time by up to 90 percent.
