Description

This release of Symantec Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) Modules for ESX and ESXi server 2.0 provides support for the modules on ESX Server 4.0 (x86, x86_64), ESXi 3.5 and 4.0, vCenter 4.0, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4.

Enhancements

This release of Symantec Enterprise Security Manager Modules for ESX and ESXi server 2.0 provides the following enhancements:
  • New platform support
    • ESX 4.0, 4.1
    • ESXi 3.5, 4.0, and 4.1
    • vCenter 4.0.x
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 (x86, x86_64)
  • New esxsetup utility
  • Two new checks in the ESX Configurations module
    • Host config option parameters
    • NX/XD flag exposed to guest
    • One new check in the ESX Network module
    • SNMP traps setting
  • One new check in the ESX Patches module
    • ESXi updates
  • Six new checks in the ESX System module
    • Local accounts only
    • Grub OS level password
    • Lockdown mode
    • Maintenance mode
    • List users and groups
    • Execute on vCenter
  • One new message in the ESX System module
    • Roles and Privileges
  • One new message in the ESX Patches module
    • Superseded
  • One new template in the ESX Configurations module
    • ESX Configuration Parameters
  • One new template in the ESX Patch module
    • ESXi Patch template
