Patch Policies are only available to customers who have a current maintenance and support agreement with Symantec for Enterprise Security Manager. Your use of the patch policies will be governed by the terms of your maintenance and support agreement. If you do not have such an agreement, you are not authorized to download or use Patch Policies.
The Symantec ESM OS Patch policy updates the OS Patches (Patch) module templates to include all new security-related patches for the supported operating systems and applications.

The supported operating systems are as follows:
  • Windows Vista Enterprise 32-bit
  • Windows Vista Enterprise 64-bit (x64)
  • Windows Server 2003 and 2008 64-bit (x64)
  • Windows Server 2003 and 2008
  • Windows Server 2003 and 2008 (Itanium)
  • Windows Server 2012 64-bit (x64)
  • Windows XP Professional 32-bit
  • Windows 7 on x86 and Opteron
  • Windows 2008 R2 on Itanium, Opteron, and Xeon
  • HP-UX
  • AIX
  • IBM AIX VIOS
  • Solaris
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Oracle Enterprise Linux 5
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9, 10 , and 11
The supported applications are as follows:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE)
  • Internet Information Services Web server (IIS)
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server
  • Microsoft Outlook Express
  • Microsoft Visual Studio

This policy is designed for the Symantec ESM agents running SU 24 (and later).
