Behavior


Adware.VirtualBouncer masquerades as a legitimate spyware remover but sets itself to run when Windows starts and remains memory-resident on the compromised computer. The adware will periodically attempt to contact a remote server to download updates and instructions.

Some versions we have seen will prompt the user to purchase an upgrade to Virtual Bouncer, by displaying pop-up advertisements telling him/her that their computer is at risk.
