W32.Melting.Worm is a 32-bit Windows program discovered in March 2000. The worm received attention because an antivirus vendor issued a press release incorrectly stating that the worm was spreading widely. Symantec AntiVirus Research Center (SARC) has not received a submission of the worm as of March 22, 2000. The worm's many defects cause the system to crash. It also has program dependencies, making its survival unlikely.
