- Virus
This is a companion virus. Rather than altering files, it simply finds an .exe file and copies itself into the same folder, using the same file name as the .exe file, but with the .com extension. As a result, if you attempt to execute the original file at a command prompt by typing the file name without the extension, the virus will execute instead.
