W97M.WMVG.Gen is a generic detection for macro viruses that were created using the "WalruS Macro Virus Generator (WMVG)." Norton AntiVirus detects any macro virus created by the known version of this kit as W97M.WMVG.Gen.

NOTE: Some of the generated macro viruses are detected as Macro Component.

The kit has an option to generate the Visual Basic script. Norton AntiVirus detects it as VBS.WMVG.Gen.
