W97M.Tech.G is a macro virus that infects Microsoft Word documents and templates. It has one date-activated payload that contains instructions to run a "DOS Device in pathname" exploit, a vulnerability which may exist in Windows 9x-based systems.
A system patch released in March 2000 prevents the exploit from working.
