W97M.Notfam is a simple macro virus that infects Microsoft Word documents as they are opened. The virus also infects the Microsoft Word global template, Normal.dot.
W97M.Notfam attempts to lower the Microsoft Word macro virus protection settings and to disable several toolbars. This is done in an attempt to hide itself from you.
