Also Known As: BackDoor-YQ [McAfee]
Type: Trojan Horse
Systems Affected: Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, Windows XP
Backdoor.Lala.C is a Trojan Horse that steals confidential information from a compromised computer. It is a variant of
Backdoor.Lala that installs one additional file, detected as
Backdoor.Trojan, to allow for remote access. The existence of the Pntask.exe file is an indication of a possible infection.
Backdoor.Lala.C launches Mmtask.exe if it already exists, but does not install a file by this name. Mmtask.exe may be a copy of WinGate, a legitimate application which can be used as a backdoor. Mmtask.exe should be deleted if it is found in conjunction with Backdoor.Lala.C or another variant.
