When Adware.OpenSite is installed, it performs the following actions:
- Creates the folder, C:\Program Files\Open Site. All the files belonging to this adware will be inserted into this folder.
- Displays advertisements based on keywords that a user types in the address bar.
Adds the value:
Open Site = C:\Program Files\Open Site\opnste.exe
to the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
so that the adware runs when Windows starts.
- Creates the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Open Site
- May Modify the default home page in Internet Explorer.
