Behavior


Joke.Playball is a joke program in the form of a .chm (Help) file. It displays a picture and plays sounds.

Symptoms


If you open the Help file that it detects as Joke.Playball , it opens your Web browser and displays a picture of a woman's face. The picture appears to be of the "horror" genre. It has red eyes and a trickle of blood from the mouth.
  • If you click the picture, it plays the sounds of a woman screaming.
  • If you close the window, it opens the Web browser again. The picture is displayed again, but this time it is smaller. Also, the picture moves around the browser window. This repeats each time that you close it, with the picture getting smaller and moving faster with each cycle.

    You can close the program from the Windows task bar, or by restarting the computer.
