W32.Poxdar is a network-aware worm that has distributed denial of service and back door capabilities. The worm spreads by exploiting vulnerabilities.

- Further investigation has revealed that the Microsoft Windows Server Message Block Handlers Remote Buffer Overflow Vulnerability (as described in the Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-011) is not exploited by this threat. This information has been removed.
