Ted Barassi is Group Product Manager, eDiscovery and Information Risk at Symantec. Ted brings more than 15 years experience as an attorney and technologist in eDiscovery, records management, and information security.
Ted is a member of the New York State Bar and participates as a member of the Electronic Document Retention and Production (WG1) and International Electronic Information Management, Discovery and Disclosure (WG6) Working Groups of the Sedona Conference. He is active in the American Bar Association (ABA), where he sits on the Pretrial Practice and Discovery Committee of the Section of Litigation, the Information Security Committee of the Section of Science and Technology, and the Electronic Evidence Committee of the Business Law Section. He is also a member of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), and ARMA International.
Before joining Symantec, Ted was Co-Founder, Vice President and Counsel at Acquire Systems, a financial services transactional data analysis firm, where he was responsible for legal affairs, legal and regulatory compliance, and information risk management. Prior to that he held legal positions as a Vice President and Counsel at CertCo, a leading provider of public key-based encryption, authentication, and payment technologies, and as Vice President at Bankers Trust Company, where he was Counsel in the electronic commerce group.
Ted graduated with honors from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service with a Bachelor of Science and holds a Juris Doctor degree from the James Rogers School of Law at the University of Arizona.
