Symantec has ended the Beta for Symantec Online Remote Access. We’re grateful to the more than 1500 beta participants who took the time to explore and test the service.
Symantec continues to invest heavily in SaaS and remains focused on its vision to become the leading provider of SaaS offerings that secure and manage the world’s information. However, at this time we do not plan to release Symantec Online Remote Access as a standalone paid service on the Symantec Protection Network platform. Instead, we are evaluating opportunities for integrating Online Remote Access technology with other Symantec products, services, and partner tools.
Online Remote Access Beta users seeking replacement options are encouraged to evaluate:

- Symantec Project Guru – a hosted service for personal and small office remote access needs that is scheduled for release in the second half of 2009.
- Symantec pcAnywhere Access Server – software for businesses seeking a simple, self-hosted or partner-hosted option for remote access capabilities, when used in conjunction with Symantec pcAnywhere.
