Symantec Technology Enabled Program (STEP)

Technology Partner Program

The Symantec Technology Enabled Program (STEP) partners with IHVs, OSVs and ISVs who want to establish interoperability with Symantec availability and security solutions.

Members of STEP can establish interoperability testing and/or integration/qualification activities with Symantec in two ways:

  • On your own using self-testing kits and SDKs (software development kits)
  • In coordination with Symantec engineering

Once testing is completed, reviewed, and approved by Symantec you may receive the Compatible, Certified and/or Qualified logo. These logos designate to your customers that both Symantec and you stand behind the tested solution and are committed to joint product interoperability over the product lifecycle.


STEP currently has processes in place for integration testing in the following Technology Tracks:

  • Storage Foundation Qualification
  • Server Foundation Certification
  • NetBackup Qualification
  • Security Information Management Certification
  • Symantec Anti-Virus Engine Certification
  • Mobile Security Certification
  • Enterprise Vault Certification/Qualification
