Darren Shou

Darren Shou is responsible for driving disruptive innovation, leading emerging business initiatives, and developing long-term strategy across the company. 

During his tenure at Symantec, Shou has held leadership positions in Enterprise Security, Cyber Insurance, and most currently, Symantec Research Labs. 

Mr. Shou has a B.S. in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Southern California and executive education at Caltech. He is also board observer for portfolio companies of Symantec Ventures and on the advisory boards for several university research centers.

  • Demystifying the IP Blackspace

    In this paper, we explore the misuse and abuse of the IP blackspace, a portion of the Internet IP address space that should not be used. We show that the IP blackspace is sometimes mistakenly used to host web services, such as, websites. We also show that cybercriminals exploit the blackspace to host malicious servers and launch attacks.
