Analyst and Beta Tester Comments on Product Benefits
Cross-platform performance and easy setup are critically important in remote computing," said Chris LeTocq, principal software analyst at Dataquest. "Symantec’s new release provides comprehensive cross-platform connections coupled with simple set-up instructions, for a very effective product."

Beta testers also applauded Symantec’s performance enhancements, expanded Internet support and multi-tasking capabilities:

  • Harley Jones, owner manager of Service Unlimited added, "I can now directly connect with my clients’ computers using the Internet instead of conventional telephone and I can do this connection within my Web browser. This one click Internet remote control not only saves on long distance charges but it’s a terrific convenience by simplifying Internet connections."
  • Mike Lombroze, a systems analyst at Southern California Edison, has been testing pcANYWHERE’s new multi-tasking capabilities. "The product’s support for multiple remote sessions has optimized my on-line time tremendously," said Lombroze. "While at home I can access my e-mail, download files, and access the plant’s other systems, all at the same time."
  • Sean Boice, a service technician at Vermont Technology Exchange, recommends pcANYWHERE with every machine he sells to his customers for the benefits of remote troubleshooting. "The refresh rate improvements in this new version are excellent, said Boice. "My remote support sessions just fly over a 28.8 modem."
