Symantec Supports Microsoft Windows 98

Symantec Products Compatible With Windows 98

Cupertino, Calif. --May 26, 1998-- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced support for Microsoft Windows 98 with key Symantec products currently available to support the new operating system. The following products support Windows 98: Norton AntiVirus, Norton Utilities, Norton Uninstall Deluxe, Norton CrashGuard Deluxe, Norton Mobile Essentials, pcANYWHERE and ACT!.

All Symantec products have a proprietary technology called LiveUpdate that allows customers to incorporate changes into existing products. With this direct connection Symantec can support new environments such as Windows 98 with ease. The LiveUpdate connections for Windows 98 begin June 1 with scheduled updates until the final availability of Microsoft Windows 98. And of course, LiveUpdate is a free service for all Symantec customers.
